A 21-year-old man fell from a condo building during a police search warrant execution, resulting in life-threatening injuries and ultimately his death in hospital.
York Regional Police Const. Kevin Nebrija reported that officers 'had an interaction' with the man prior to the incident, but further details were not disclosed.
Emergency services confirmed that the man was transported to hospital with severe injuries from the fall and was pronounced dead shortly after.
The SIU has been notified as part of the protocol following such incidents, indicating that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall is underway.
