The consumer price index shows inflation was at 2.9% in March compared to the year before, a slight increased compared to February. Gasoline prices contributed the most to the March inflation rate, according to Statistics Canada.
According to Statistics Canada, gasoline prices, mortgage interest costs and rent contributed to upward pressure in the inflation rate.
