Hyundai is recalling 48,509 SUVs and small cars in Canada and 226,000 in the U.S. due to rear-view camera failures, posing safety risks.
'The rear-view camera's printed circuit boards were produced with insufficient solder joints,' said a spokesperson, highlighting the problem's root cause.
'Solder joints on a printed circuit board can develop cracks that worsen over time, leading to camera failure and reduced visibility,' Hyundai stated.
Dealers will replace the cameras at no cost, ensuring affected vehicles meet safety standards and improving driver safety.
