The incident occurred on Saturday night at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, where an Air Canada Express flight experienced landing gear problems upon arrival, causing it to skid and catch fire.
Passengers reported a frightening scene as the plane skidded off the runway, tilting onto its left side and catching fire while pilots attempted to stabilize the aircraft.
Air Canada confirmed that while there were no serious injuries among the crew and 73 passengers, minor injuries were reported by a spokesperson from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Following the incident, flight operations at Halifax airport were temporarily suspended to assess safety, with one runway returning to normal operations after clearance was given.
