This report is a call to action to recognise the significant gaps in mental-health provision for trans+ individuals, and to work toward creating inclusive, affirming services.
The findings contribute to the already large amount of evidence that mental-health issues for trans and non-binary people are deeply rooted in systemic transphobia.
Over 80% of respondents said a lack of social acceptance was one of their main challenges, alongside gender dysphoria and fear of discrimination.
Only 14.7% of the respondents had a positive experience when accessing healthcare, indicating significant barriers to care for trans and non-binary individuals.
