Maria Pilar Del Gadillo Carrillo, who emigrated from Mexico to the United States in early 1986, was identified as the woman found dead with 'traumatic injuries' along State Route 67 in August 1986.
Deputies turned to investigative genetic genealogy using DNA profiles to solve the cold case, identifying Carrillo after two years. They are now investigating her whereabouts before her death.
