'We urgently tried to get to the children.' Baby killed in violent crash on I-215 in Riverside
"We urgently tried to get to the children in the back, and we were not successful. But I tried keeping the parents calm and telling them that I was there, trying to get any information that I could."
"Once firefighters arrived and extracted the infant, they began performing CPR, but it looked like the baby was turning blue."
A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 215 resulted in the death of 3-month-old Leon Edgington Morales and injuries to five others. The accident occurred when a Honda Civic stopped in traffic, leading to a Nissan colliding with it, followed by a Toyota Rav4 hitting the Nissan. The Nissan carried a family, including the deceased infant. Witnesses attempted to assist but were unable to free the occupants. Firefighters performed CPR on the baby, who was pronounced dead shortly after.
