The accident occurred when a Honda Civic stopped in traffic, leading to a Nissan colliding with it, followed by a Toyota Rav4 hitting the Nissan. The Nissan carried a family, including the deceased infant. Witnesses attempted to assist but were unable to free the occupants. Firefighters performed CPR on the baby, who was pronounced dead shortly after.
