On June 25, chefs and restaurant operators from across California gathered at the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center for the prestigious Michelin Guide California awards. The ceremony highlighted restaurants receiving Michelin stars, including Somni's historic three-star achievement and Providence's elevation from two to three stars just in time for a significant anniversary. Other noteworthy winners like Restaurant Ki and Mori Nozomi showcased a vibrant food scene while promoting sustainability through green stars. Bib Gourmand recognitions were also celebrated, presenting several new additions across Los Angeles's diverse culinary landscape.
"This is the first year that I'm just enjoying it. I'm not nervous. I'm very excited. I think with Pasta Bar [in Encino], the team is amazing." - Margarita Kallas-Lee, Pasta Bar
"We're trying to get two stars with Pasta Bar. We're trying to get a green star, trying to get all those things. A year ago, we planted a legit quarter-acre garden. If my brother [Lennon Silvers Lee of Silvers Omakase] gets a star, we'll be the first brothers in America." - unnamed chef
"As we celebrate these incredible teams and their contributions to the culinary landscape, we also recognize the importance of sustainable practices in our industry." - unnamed Michelin spokesperson
