"Stretches of the Stanford University campus were left without power Tuesday morning, forcing at least one class to be canceled amid a fierce winter storm. The outage was reported at 9:37 a.m., according to the Stanford University emergency webpage, after one of the main PG&E transmission lines was impacted. Most of the campus was without power for approximately 2 hours, Angie Davis, a spokesperson for the university, told SFGATE. Power has been restored, and most classes were not canceled, Davis said at 11:11 a.m."
"Though there were not widespread cancellations, the university said on its website that canceling classes was "subject to the discretion of instructors" as officials worked to restore campus operations. A webpage for a politics seminar, for example, shows that the noon class is canceled because of the outage. There were also some "brief closures" to campus facilities during the outage, Davis said."
