Efrain Jose Obando, a San Francisco resident, was sentenced to 12 years and eight months in prison after kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman. He forced her into his car from her workplace, attempted to rape her at a storage facility, and later sexually assaulted her en route back to work. Despite knowing her through a position of trust, he faced felony charges of kidnapping and rape, ultimately pleading no contest. The victim's courage in reporting the assault was commended by officials.
Obando pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 12 years and eight months in prison on felony charges of kidnapping, forcible oral copulation and forcible rape.
