A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer was injured in a collision around 1:15 p.m. at Challenger Way and East Avenue M, in Palmdale.
The injured officer was transported to a local hospital, where he was reported to be stable, according to CHP spokesperson Alec Pereyda.
In response to the accident, the intersection was closed around 2 p.m. as personnel from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department and the CHP carried out their duties.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation, with no additional details available as stated by the CHP.
