Cal Fire investigators arrested a 39-year-old man suspected of starting the Electra Fire that burned over 4,400 acres and threatened 1,200 structures two years ago.
The Electra Fire, which started on July 4, 2022, prompted widespread evacuation orders and temporarily trapped about 100 people in a PG&E powerhouse during the blaze.
Despite the fire threatening 1,217 structures in its early days and lasting nearly a month before containment, Cal Fire reported no structures were damaged or destroyed.
In the wake of the Electra Fire, approximately 8,000 households in Amador and Calaveras counties were left without power due to de-energized lines around the area.
