Blue Shield of California announced plans to reduce its workforce by 61 employees across multiple locations to enhance operational efficiency and reduce administrative costs.
The layoffs, amounting to less than 1% of the workforce, will occur on December 11 and 18, affecting positions such as corporate communications specialist and financial analyst.
Affected employees will have the option to stay on for 90 days while searching for new jobs, supported by career coaching and skills training.
This reduction follows a previous cut of 140 jobs in January, indicating ongoing adjustments in Blue Shield’s operational strategy.
