As RV camps fill neighborhoods, new law is aimed at reducing them in L.A.
Briefly

Mayor Karen Bass has vowed to enhance efforts to clear RV encampments and shelter homeless Angelenos after the signing of a pivotal bill that enables using state-owned properties for storage and emergency services.
While only one of the 64 Caltrans airspace properties is currently accessible for storing towed RVs, city officials hope that additional sites will soon become available to tackle the RV crisis.
Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez acknowledged that while the newly enacted legislation is not a complete solution, it addresses a significant barrier to moving RV dwellers off the streets more quickly.
With more than 95% of the city’s 325 RV spaces occupied, city management must confront a long-standing logistical problem regarding the storage and disposal of towed vehicles.
