On Tuesday, a 53-year-old man drowned at Meeks Bay in Lake Tahoe. Emergency calls were received around 2:42 p.m. regarding the incident. Sheriff's deputies arrived and attempted life-saving measures but ultimately the man died. The coroner's report confirmed drowning as the cause of death. The deceased was visiting Lake Tahoe from out of the country. The recent drowning follows a previous drowning event in June that resulted in eight fatalities due to a boat capsizing offshore.
