Denis Torii highlighted that the decrease in RISE customer wins is a result of divided sales efforts with GROW with SAP, launched in 2023 for smaller businesses.
Torii noted that customers are hesitant to shift from on-prem licenses to subscription models, as they are uncertain about the RISE with SAP's capabilities for complex migrations.
According to Gartner, customer sales of RISE with SAP peaked in late 2021 at 650, but have significantly dropped to 255 by the second quarter of 2024.
Many existing SAP customers view the RISE model as a costly option for running ERP without any clear advantages over traditional systems.
