Starbucks staff are protesting a lack of progress in contract negotiations, claiming the company failed to honor its February commitment to reach an agreement with its employees this year.
The union responsible for the strikes, Starbucks Workers United, is holding the company accountable for numerous unfair labor practices reported by employees to the National Labor Relations Board.
Earlier this month, Starbucks stated it had committed to a minimum 1.5% annual pay increase for unionized workers, but the union rejected this offer demanding an immediate increase.
Despite the strikes occurring during the busy Christmas season, Starbucks claims there has been 'no significant impact' on its store operations.
