"to strengthen and streamline our operations so we can move faster, operate with greater discipline, and better serve athletes and consumers."
"sharpening our supply chain footprint, accelerating the use of advanced technology and automation, and investing in the skills our teams need for the future."
Nike will eliminate 775 U.S. positions, largely at distribution centers in Mississippi and Tennessee that serve as major supply-chain hubs. The cuts follow reductions in 2024 of about 2% of the workforce (roughly 1,600 roles) and an August realignment that removed about 1% of corporate staff. In May 2025 Nike had approximately 77,800 employees; the latest 775 layoffs equal roughly 1% of that total. The company frames the reductions as measures to strengthen and streamline operations, sharpen the supply-chain footprint, accelerate technology and automation, and invest in future workforce skills.
