Last year's midpoint CEO pay package in S&P 500 companies was $16.3 million, a 12.6% increase; base salary $1.3 million (4% increase) and stock awards $9.4 million (10.7% increase).
At some companies, workers in the middle need almost 200 years to earn what their CEOs make, with top earners like Apple's Tim Cook having employees take 672 years to reach their annual pay.
