DEI under Donald Trump-here's what HR leaders and experts think will happen over the next 4 years
Briefly

"I do think some companies are going to start to use the rhetoric we've heard from Trump over the last year to step away from some of these things," Paul Wolfe, former CHRO, stated. "I think this is another thing that will only get harder for DEIB professionals and HR professionals to deal with."
"We've seen cases where public statements about DEI have been twisted into grounds for lawsuits, EEOC claims, or social media backlash," attorney Annette Tyman remarked. "As a result, some employers are becoming more cautious about how they talk about DEI, particularly in written external communications."
Nicole Ridley, head of operations at FARE, pointed out that companies should get very clear on their mission regarding DEI efforts amid changing political landscapes and public expectations.
The expectation is that under a Trump presidency, legal battles related to DEI will intensify, leading companies to be more cautious in their programs and statements.
