Currys is planning to increase automation and enter a period of reduced hiring due to national insurance changes, while sales rose during the Christmas period.
Alex Baldock noted that although sentiment has been affected by inflation and interest rates, there are signs of recovery with consumer confidence improving and spending increasing.
The chief executive emphasized that despite facing higher costs from national insurance changes, Currys managed to offset half of the impact and plans to mitigate further price rises.
