"Most of the places were more than our mortgage, which seems kind of crazy," said one mother, emphasizing the overwhelming financial burden of child care in the current economic climate.
"Having two kids go to daycare two days a week, still the cost of it will be more than my take home pay," said another, highlighting the challenges low-to-middle-income families face.
"My plan is that no family, no working family should pay no more than 7-percent of their income on child care," said Harris, reflecting on policy proposals aimed at easing financial burdens.
"Which has a direct impact on our economy, you see the businesses, everyone has 'Help Wanted'. We have to become really tolerant of going someplace and waiting and not having service that we had six, seven years ago,' says Sheri Scavone.
