Akamai’s decision to end CDN services in China is not a reflection of challenges in the market but rather an alignment with their global strategy and customer needs.
In a communication to customers, Akamai emphasized that all China CDN services will be decommissioned by June 30, 2026, urging clients to transition to alternative solutions.
The company reassured stakeholders that it will assist with migration processes and has already initiated support for transitioning to Tencent Cloud, as well as Wangsu.
While foreign tech firms often face challenges in China, Akamai maintains a commitment to the market and views itself as a valuable partner for Chinese companies abroad.
