MTA has acquired a repair shop in Crown Heights, formerly part of Brooklyn's 'Automobile Row,' from President Maintenance for $25.3 million. The 57,000-square-foot property at 1590 Bedford Ave. adds historical significance to the area.
The building dated back to 1926 when original owner Guy Simons, a Chrysler motor car dealer, advertised its grand opening in the Brooklyn Eagle. This purchase by MTA underscores the preservation of historic structures in the evolving cityscape of Brooklyn.
Brooklyn, a borough with almost 2.6 million residents, maintains its historical charm and community richness. Despite recent trendy associations, the deep-rooted essence of Brooklyn remains intact for its long-term residents and contributors.
