Upgrade of pedestrian ramps across Brooklyn to begin Monday, Oct. 28
Briefly

The city will begin upgrading sidewalk pedestrian ramps across Brooklyn starting Monday, Oct. 28, as part of a $12 million project anticipated to complete by fall 2026.
This project addresses accessibility issues as part of an agreement following a 2019 lawsuit by the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association, representing disabled individuals.
The new and upgraded pedestrian ramps will feature a red or white detectable warning surface designed to assist those with visual disabilities navigate the sidewalks.
Construction will occur Mondays through Fridays, and possibly on Saturdays, while ensuring emergency vehicle access at all times despite temporary disruptions to driveways.
