"The revised plan almost triples the number of apartments while increasing the building's height and density. Charney Companies principal Sam Charney said the development team selected BIG after a competitive process."
Developers Charney Companies and Tavros Capital revealed updated renderings for a project designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and dencityworks|architecture. The development includes connected concrete and glass towers along 3rd Street, rising 16 stories with a total of 27 stories. The complex will encompass 1.08 million square feet, featuring retail, artist workspaces, and amenities. A public esplanade along the Gowanus Canal will provide recreational spaces and stormwater management. The revised plan significantly increases the number of apartments and building density compared to earlier concepts.
