Park Slope Fire Leaves One Person Injured

Fire marshals are currently investigating a significant two-alarm fire that broke out on May 2 in Park Slope, leading to one person being hospitalized in stable condition. Emergency responders, including Squad Company 1 and Ladder Company 122, arrived just before 9 a.m. The fire, which engulfed the third and fourth floors of 118 Sterling Place, was intense enough that witnesses described flames leaping over the fire escape. In response, over 100 firefighters from 25 units worked quickly to control the blaze.
"There was a lot of fire leaping over the fire escape," said witness Bethany Clark, highlighting the intensity of the fire at the scene.
More than 100 firefighters from 25 units used four hose lines to knock down the main body of fire, showcasing the scale of the emergency response.
