Park Slope Brownstone With Stylish Reno Asks $10.25 Million
"A renovation of this Park Slope brownstone by the current owners kept 1880s-era details in place and introduced some stylish finishes and amenities like central air, a modern kitchen, three en suite baths, and a landscaped rear yard. At 757 Carroll Street, it sits within the Park Slope Historic District and just a couple of blocks from Prospect Park. Trees, both on the sidewalk and one in the small front garden, provide shade, but obscure the facade."
"The group was constructed by owner and builder John Magilligan, who was busy on this block in the 1880s, putting up more than 30 row houses between 1886 and 1888, according to the designation report. Work on this row began in 1886. By 1888, Magilligan was advertising houses on this block as "first class" with woodwork including cherry, oak, and mahogany."
At 757 Carroll Street in Park Slope, the 20-foot-wide brownstone sits within the Park Slope Historic District near Prospect Park. The triplex above a garden rental preserves 1880s-era architectural elements such as a high stoop, full-height angled bay, pier mirror, mantels, wood floors, pocket doors, moldings, wainscoting, and the original stair. Renovation introduced modern amenities including central air, a contemporary kitchen with a large island and discreetly tucked appliances, three en suite bathrooms, and a landscaped rear yard. The row, built by John Magilligan between 1886 and 1888, features fine woodwork in cherry, oak, and mahogany.
