On January 25, 2025, a four-alarm fire erupted in a top-floor apartment at 335 Graham Ave in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, displacing 10 families. Firefighters from 25 FDNY units battled the blaze, which quickly spread to two neighboring wood-framed buildings. The fire was eventually controlled over an hour later, with one firefighter sustaining minor injuries. Though there was concern about potential links to lithium-ion batteries, which are known to cause fires, current investigations show no such connections in this incident. The operation was an aggressive interior attack, led by Battalion 35, successfully preventing further spread of the fire.
The DFNY reported that firefighters successfully knocked down the main body of fire, preventing further spread and keeping damage as minimal as possible.
Assistant Chief of Operations Kevin Woods praised the firefighters: 'They were up against a lot of fire through the walls and roof,' highlighting their challenge.
