Throughout 2024, HDC will collaborate with neighborhood partners like Downtown Brooklyn Landmarks Coalition to achieve preservation goals through strategic planning, advocacy, and public awareness. They aim to advance landmarking campaigns for significant buildings in areas like downtown Brooklyn undergoing redevelopment.
Since 2011, HDC's Six to Celebrate initiative has contributed to creating National Register districts and landmarks, NYC historic districts, and leveraging funds for preservation projects. They provide support in strategic planning, websites, walking tours, and grants for community-driven efforts in historic neighborhoods.
