A child's rescue from being wedged between two boulders in Windsor, New Hampshire, involved a multi-agency effort that lasted more than nine hours before a successful extraction.
Firefighters responded just after 6 p.m. on Sunday, employing ropes and lubricant to successfully free the trapped child from the boulders.
The incident occurred near the Wediko School, a facility for boys in middle and high school, highlighting the potential dangers associated with outdoor activities.
Fire Chief Kenny Stafford reported that the child was pried out in the early hours of Monday and subsequently taken to a hospital for evaluation.
