Brooklyn's Little Caribbean Wins Historic Preservation Award
Briefly

Since its inception in 2017, Little Caribbean has been a hub for cultural heritage, commerce, and community engagement in Brooklyn's Flatbush neighborhood. The I AM CARIBBEING initiative, led by founder Shelley Worrell, has played a pivotal role in raising awareness of Caribbean culture through events, public programs, and partnerships with local organizations.
We are truly humbled and grateful to receive the Preservation League's Excellence Award. This recognition is a testament to the power of Little Caribbean and the importance of preserving our heritage.
Little Caribbean preserves our community's heritage while sustaining it for the future, said state Senator Zellnor Myrie. I am so proud to represent one of New York's largest concentrations of Caribbean and West Indian residents and extend my sincere congratulations to Little Caribbean for this well-deserved recognition.
