Terrence Reece, 32, has been sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for the murder of livery cab driver Noman Saleemi in a robbery gone wrong. In 2019, after a dispute over fare, Reece shot Saleemi execution-style and stole his wallet with less than $100. The trial revealed a gruesome crime, with evidence connecting Reece through DNA and fingerprints found in Saleemi's cab. The Brooklyn DA highlighted the senseless nature of the crime, noting the victim's role as a dedicated family member.
The victim in this case was a dedicated son and brother who worked overnight shifts to earn extra money. His life was destroyed when this defendant cruelly and needlessly executed him while trying to rob him.
On the night of July 26, 2019, Reece entered the cab and after a fare dispute, he forced the driver, Saleemi, to a remote location.
Reece executed Saleemi with two shots: one through the cheek and another in the back of the head as he lay on the ground.
After the murder, Reece stole less than $100 from the victim's wallet and then had his wife dispose of the murder weapon.
