Bar Chuzo, a new Latin bistro in Bay Ridge, was opened by Ronny Jaramillo and Dana Morrissey, showcasing Ecuadorian cuisine alongside elements from their previous restaurant, Bar Crudo. Initially launched in 2020, Bar Crudo faced challenges during the pandemic, leading to the reimagining of their culinary offerings. After encountering lease issues for Bar Crudo, the couple pivoted by merging it with Jaramillo's heritage from Chuzo Culture, creating a hybrid restaurant that combines the best of both worlds. The revitalized concept highlights their resilience and adaptability in challenging times.
