Police officers responded to a 911 call at Brooklyn Avenue and St. Marks Avenue, where they found the victim, Troy Gill, with multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body.
Between Jan. 1 and Feb. 25, there had been 44 murders on the streets of the five boroughs, according to the most recently available NYPD data.
