The Boston Public Library Is Hatching a Restaurant Incubator
Briefly

The Boston Public Library has initiated a restaurant incubator program in the Map Room Lounge, allowing local culinary talent to showcase their dishes. Currently, Colombian vendor Magic Empanadas is experimenting with its menu through a 10-day kitchen takeover, offering unique items not typically available at events. The program aims to provide local chefs like Edward Jerez of Magic Empanadas with a platform to refine their concepts and expand their reach, ultimately helping them potentially launch their own restaurant or food venture.
"It gives them a launching point for their next step, either having a restaurant space of their own, a catering business, or a food truck," says Ken Barrett-Sw.
"Diners can head to the bar to order the namesake crunchy corn empanadas stuffed with savory and sweet fillings like carnitas mixed with fire-roasted corn, cilantro, and cheddar."
