The Red Sox have made a trade, acquiring right-handed pitcher Matt McShane from the Pirates, trading young pitcher Chase Shugart in exchange.
Chase Shugart made six appearances in 2024, showcasing a 4.15 ERA and later had a stint at Triple A with a 4.46 ERA.
At just 22, Matt McShane was drafted by the Pirates in 2022 out of Saint Joseph's University but hasn't made an affiliate appearance since.
