Rideshare driver arrested, accused of sexually assaulting rider in South Boston

A rideshare driver, Hermann Ngoufack Jiokeng, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a passenger in South Boston. The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, leading to the driver's arrest and charges of rape. Following the allegations, Uber promptly banned Jiokeng from their platform and expressed their dismay regarding the incident. Jiokeng pleaded not guilty at his arraignment and is being held without bail. The police are continuing the investigation and have urged the community to provide any information regarding the case.
Uber said it banned the driver from the platform as soon as the incident was reported. "We are sickened by what has been reported," an Uber spokesperson said.
Boston Police officers arrested Jiokeng at his residence in Brighton and charged him with rape. After being ordered held without bail, he pleaded not guilty.
