Fortunately, the Downtown Boston Alliance and artist Brandon Vickerd acted quickly, reattaching the satellite after repairing it. The sculpture, resembling a Nissan Altima with a crashed satellite from the 1962 Canadian satellite Alouette, is part of a larger public art initiative in Boston. Artist Vickerd noted the positive public reception in the city, despite the vandalism incident.
