A 7-month-old girl was shot and killed in East Williamsburg near the Bushwick border. Police responded to a 911 call at 1:20 p.m. after the child's mother, who was pushing a stroller, heard gunfire and sought cover in a deli. Witnesses reported an argument preceding the gunfire. After realizing her child was injured, the mother took the infant to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
