My 7-year-old niece is named after me, and I do feel some pressure for us to have a 'special' relationship. The problem is, I don't think she likes me-at all. And in all honesty, I don't really like her either... I've always felt she was a bit of a brat.
While I was brushing her hair, my niece told me she wanted to strangle me with her hair tie... I left the vacation feeling absolutely done trying with this kid. Maybe this is normal behavior for a 7-year-old?
