I was amazed that a week before the wedding, the bride's mother felt it necessary to put her hand up my dress to pull my bra down. This was so intrusive and embarrassing, especially in front of everyone. It made me question the boundaries and respect one should have at an event that is supposed to be a celebration. Consent should always be a PRIORITY, and this was a blatant violation of it.
Being thrown out of a wedding because of my chronic illness was heartbreaking. My friend couldn’t understand the gravity of my situation. After suffering two mini-strokes due to medication, my health had to come first. It was incredibly frustrating when she failed to recognize my struggles and became upset with my responses—or lack thereof—when I was fighting for my health in the hospital.
