Specialized is launching a day of free bike tune-ups on October 26, 2024, aiming to revive a million unused bikes by the end of 2025.
The event called Reduce, Reuse, ReSpecialized will provide free tune-ups regardless of bike brand, along with discounts for larger repairs and free children's helmets.
Specialized calculated that if a million bikes are ridden just 12 miles a week, it could reduce CO2 emissions by 438 million kilograms, equal to planting 7 million trees.
Owners can enjoy simple tune-ups such as fixing flat tires or noisy chains for free, and get discounts on future repairs if more serious work is needed.
