Female cyclist killed following crash involving tractor in Co Clare

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Toonagh, where a tractor collided with a cyclist, a woman in her 70s. Emergency services responded promptly, but unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination. The road remains closed for forensic investigation, and Gardaí are reaching out for witnesses and dash-cam footage from nearby road users between noon and 1 pm on May 24, 2025. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene following report of the collision, involving a tractor and a bicycle, which occurred on the L3180 at approximately 12.45pm.
The cyclist, a woman aged her 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her body has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick.
The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
