The unconventional and somewhat confusing Valencia Street center-running bike lanes have been blamed for numerous traffic collisions, leading to significant backlash from local businesses.
SFMTA project manager Paul Stanis indicated that they aim to start construction on the new curbside bike lane design as soon as January 2025.
Local businesses expressed strong discontent with the center-running bike lanes, with many displaying signs stating, 'This bike lane is killing small businesses and our vibrant community.'
The latest designs for curbside bike lanes have been released, and while movement back to the curb is set for January, completion will take a couple of months.
