The cycling community is grieving the loss of Aidan Worden, an 18-year-old British national junior 25-mile time trial champion, who died after colliding with a vehicle while training in Darwen, Lancashire. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Local authorities have launched an investigation, calling on witnesses for information. An emotional statement from his team, 360Cycling, highlighted Worden's significant contributions and personal achievements over the past three years, as well as his support for fellow riders. The investigation continues as the community remembers his talent and spirit.
It is with the deepest sadness that today we lost one of our young riders. Aidan has been part of 360 for over 3 years, during that time he has developed as a person, man and rider to a level few of us ever achieve.
I am appealing for help from the public. If you witnessed this incident, have any dashcam/CCTV/doorbell footage, or any information that could assist us in our investigation, then please get in touch.
