The Michelin guide is the most renowned rubric in the world for measuring culinary success, but unfortunately, San Jose's first Michelin Star restaurant, Adega, has permanently closed.
While it’s unfortunate that Adega closed, the new Petiscos restaurant will take its place, continuing the trend of quality dining in San Jose's culinary scene.
Michelin stars come in three categories, each representing different levels of culinary excellence, from a single star for very good to three stars for exceptional cuisine.
With the guide now covering all of California, the Michelin Recommended distinction has become more rare, especially as only four restaurants remain in San Jose.
