Inside the 'Radiant Spaces' of Jumper Maybach
Jumper Maybach creates gestural, Abstract Expressionist paintings with total abstraction and a personal emotional undercurrent. His work centers on identity, healing, intuition, and trauma, aiming to touch the full range of human emotion. He has produced site-specific installations in architecturally significant buildings, including the 1900K building in Washington, D.C. At the inaugural Salt Lake Art Show, he debuted “Radiant Spaces,” a curated suite designed as an immersive experience rather than separate individual works. The series focuses on emotional energy and human resilience, emphasizing that beauty can emerge from conflict and chaos. The paintings use layered textures, movement, and color fields to hold intensity and peace together, approaching complex social realities through healing rather than preaching.
"“Radiant Spaces” is a continuation of my exploration into emotional energy and human resilience, specifically the idea that beauty can emerge from conflict and chaos. I curated this collection to be an immersive experience rather than a presentation of individual paintings. While my work often touches on socially complex subjects, I approach them through a lens of healing. I wanted the layered textures, movement, and color fields to pull viewers into a space where intensity and peace coexist."
"The foundation of this project is the tension between beauty and the more difficult emotional realities of life, such as isolation or intolerance. My goal is never to preach; instead, I want the paintings to provide a sense of emot"
