YouTube has introduced a new feature allowing creators to permit specific third-party AI companies to use their content for training purposes, expanding creators' control.
From a new setting in YouTube Studio, creators can choose to authorize one or more of 18 listed AI companies to train on their videos.
The initial company list includes major players like OpenAI, Apple, and Microsoft, selected for their focus on generative AI models.
Creators can opt for an 'All third-party companies' setting to allow broader access, but Google will maintain its own training on certain content.
