Prosecutors have charged two Chinese businessmen for illegally exporting advanced Nvidia chips to China through their California-based company, ALX Solutions. From October 2022 to July 2025, they allegedly organized 21 shipments of GPUs without the required licenses. A notable shipment included powerful Nvidia H100 GPUs that were falsely labeled. Financial records indicate that payments were received from companies in Hong Kong and China, suggesting intent to evade export restrictions. Should they be convicted, Geng and Yang could face up to 20 years in prison under federal law.
